Highlights

It has been WELL established that I am not the world's greatest blogger or even the worlds most adequate blogger. But every year or so, I try to put some highlights up!! So here is a post, just of photos. One from each of the shoots that I saved in the correct folder from this year. :D

Don Quixote Babylit

There is a story with this shoot!!!
I somehow came across a company called BabyLit, whose objective was to take classic literature stories and introduce elements of them to babies in the form of board books. I was fascinated with this idea! When Christmas time came around, I asked my cute niece, who had drawn the Captain's name for the cousin gift exchange, to get him one of these books. She chose Treasure Island and it was SO CUTE!! It was a "shapes primer" and fit fantastically with our family theme, as we were reading Treasure Island together.

I went to the library to see if they had any more of these books and they did not. I decided to request one, but through their system, you can't request a series, you have to pick a specific book. I chose Don Quixote. When it came in, Abraham was HOOKED! He loved this book so much that I made a video of me reading it to him.

I contacted the author and publicist and we came up with a fun idea to take pictures of babies dressed up as characters from the book. Naturally, we picked Don Quixote first because I knew the PERFECT baby model- the Captain!!

The Reason for the Snow Hike

I am SO excited to show you these next photos. For some time, I've been wanting to do cosplay photography, but where does one start when it's a brand new idea to you and you don't know anyone who can mentor you? Ask princesses for help!!

I was lucky enough to get Kai Leigh from Princess Parties to come be Anna and Sara from Character Booking.
Side note, Anna hand-painted her dress and Elsa made hers!


These girls were AMAZING together. My 4 year old girl was entranced the entire time and my 7 year old invited Anna to HIS birthday party!

Snow Hike

Today I took some of my Munchkins (and a couple of their friends) on a Snow Hike. The mission was to gather as many background/scenery shots as possible, hopefully to use with cosplay photos. The result was SO much more. I had a blast with these kids and they did, too!!

This was at the top of the hill. They needed a little rest before continuing!

Bonus, here's the one of Paisley with a little extra sparkle!!!

I can't tell you how much I love that these girls are not only best friends, but cousins as well!!

I have known this family for a little over a year. They are just the neatest. I loved being able to see all of their personalities during photos. And the location, while I've done it before, this time it seemed so new and exciting!!

Grant Family

I just LOVE doing family photos!! This day was SO incredibly cold, even with no snow on the ground. The kids were done pretty quickly, so we made up a few of the kids shots a few days later. They were just SO fun! I feel like I've made a great new friend!
